Tom qualified as a Solicitor in 2013. Prior to this he worked as a paralegal and caseworker in a busy East London law firm. Before joining GT Stewart he also worked as a Solicitor in a Legal 500 criminal defence firm based in North London where he also attained his Higher Court Advocacy Rights. Tom has defended clients in the Police Station, Magistrates and Crown courts and has a wealth of experience in all types of cases including drug conspiracies, violent offences and fraud.
His cases to date include:
R v Fagnoul and Ors – Tom was a junior advocate in a conspiracy to import large quantities of cocaine from the European Continent via helicopter. His client was acquitted.
R v Francis – Tom was the advocate at trial of a defendant for possession of a large quantity of cocaine with intent to supply. His client was acquitted at trial.
R v Goodman and Ors – Tom was an assistant litigator in the LIBOR fraud case brought by the serious fraud office. His client was acquitted following trial.
R v Macauley – Tom was the advocate in a case of sustained coercive and controlling behaviour and violence. His client was acquitted at trial.
R v White – Tom was the advocate in a case of possession of a bladed article where it was used to threaten a taxi driver. His client was acquitted following a trial.
R v Urbanavicius – Tom was the lead litigator in a murder case heard at the Old Bailey.
