Criminal Defence Paralegal

Roxy Fierstein joined GT Stewart Solicitors in July 2026 as a Paralegal in the Criminal Defence department. 

Roxy has experience in a range of criminal law matters, including pro bono casework involving appeals against convictions and sentences of imprisonment, death penalty cases in the United States, and other criminal matters.

During her undergraduate degree, Roxy undertook research examining the efficacy of a suspect's human rights during police investigations into suspected terrorism offences, an area of law in which she maintains a particular interest. In 2025, she was an active member of the University of Lincoln Law Clinic, contributing to housing, employment, and discrimination matters, assisting with casework and providing pro bono support to vulnerable clients.

Education and Qualifications

Roxy completed the Bar Vocational Course in 2026 and is due to be called to the Bar of England and Wales. After completing her LLB (Hons) at the University of Lincoln in 2025.

Roxy was awarded Middle Temple's Access to the Bar Award in 2025 in recognition of her academic achievements, commitment to advocacy, and contribution as Mooting Officer of her university law society during her university studies. 

Notable Experience or Interests outside of Law

Alongside her studies, Roxy worked in customer-facing hospitality roles for several years, developing strong communication, organisational, and client care skills.

Roxy has been actively involved in a range of voluntary initiatives. She volunteered with Amicus ALJ, undertaking casework in support of individuals on death row in the United States and assisting legal teams involved in capital defence matters. 

Roxy has also volunteered with the Innocence Project, supporting the review of potential wrongful conviction cases and contributing to efforts aimed at securing justice for those who may have been wrongly convicted. 

Additionally, she volunteered in a refugee camp, helping to distribute essential supplies and provide practical support to individuals and families affected by displacement and humanitarian hardship.
