Philip joined GT Stewart Ltd, Solicitors in June 2023, having formerly been a partner in Hudgell & Partners LLP, specialising in the law relating to children from joining that firm in 1988. He has worked in private practice since qualifying as a solicitor in 1983. His work involves dealing with cases associated with social services, adoption, contact and residential disputes and he has extensive experience of representing vulnerable clients with learning difficulties/disabilities.
In addition to being a member of Resolution, and the Association of Lawyers for Children, he has been an accredited member of the Law Society Children Panel since 1988.
Philip won the LAPG Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year (Family including mediation) award in 2019 and was a finalist in 2018.
Philip’s interests outside work include supporting Charlton Athletic FC and playing bridge. He enjoys walking in the countryside in the UK and abroad.
