Profile
Julie Ann is the Supervising Solicitor of our Criminal Appeal department and is responsible for ensuring that the team is compliant with all LAA and Lexcel requirements.
She has a busy caseload of ‘out of time’ appeal and CCRC cases and has recently successfully appealed an IPP, an extremely rare occurrence. She specialises in mentally unwell clients who were sentenced to determinate, IPP and extended sentences who arguably should have been sentenced under the Mental Health Act.
She also represents clients at Court and police stations in relation to matters of all seriousness.
Julie Ann was Greg Stewart’s trainee and qualified in December 2001 and has been a Solicitor with GT Stewart since. She has been a Duty Solicitor since 2003 and became a Supervising Solicitor in 2010.
