Arranging your first appointment
Our office is based in Birmingham City Centre. You can come and see us in person or request a telephone or video call if you would prefer. Your enquiry will come through to our Family Team and you will be contacted by one of our team members who will put you in direct contact with one of our Lawyers.
We understand that speaking to a stranger about personal matters involving your family and children is very emotional and extremely challenging. To help combat these difficulties, here is a breakdown of what you can expect when you meet the Birmingham Family Team for the first time.
Getting to know you and your situation
First and foremost, we want to know about you, your details and the names of anyone involved in your case including your children.
Next, we want to know about your worries and what your desired outcome is. We will ask you about any upcoming Court dates and deadlines and general information about your case. This is important because it helps us to understand where you are at in the Court process and the steps that need to be taken next.
Legal aid and funding options
Then we will check your eligibility for legal aid and if appropriate, arrange to complete an application for legal aid with you. Throughout this process, we will keep you updated on the progress of your application and may request some documents from you to be submitted in support of the same.
After your consultation, we will follow up with you in writing to set out the next steps that need to be taken to move forward with your case. We will stay in contact with you and update you at every stage.
