Job Title: Assistant Head of Crime
Location: Hammersmith
Salary: £65,000 per year
We are seeking an experienced Crime Solicitor to serve as Assistant Head of our Hammersmith Office, helping to manage the day-to-day operations while also fulfilling the role of Supervising Solicitor. This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to help lead a team, provide high-quality client representation, and oversee the development of junior staff within the Crime Department.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management:
Oversee the operational management of the Hammersmith office, ensuring compliance with firm policies and procedures
Provide strategic input into office development and growth
Act as the primary liaison between the office and senior leadership
Supervision and Mentorship:
Supervise and support crime solicitors, paralegals, and trainees, ensuring case quality and adherence to regulatory standards
Deliver regular feedback and provide guidance on professional development
Casework:
Represent clients in police stations, Magistrate' Court, and Crown Court
Prepare and manage case files with a high level of organisation and attention to detail
Handle complex and serious crime cases, demonstrating robust advocacy skills
Compliance and Administration:
Ensure all team members adhere to the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) standards and the firm's policies
Monitor and manage team appraisals
Key Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years PQE with extensive experience in crime work
Higher Rights of Audience qualification preferred
Demonstrate experience in supervision and team management
Strong advocacy and case preparation skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
