Murray Schiffeldrin BW

It is with the saddest of hearts that we have to announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Murray Schiffeldrin who was a most valued member of the Leeds team. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this sad time.

Our personal tributes to Murray:

“It was a privilege to know and work alongside Murray. He was a determined advocate for those who appeared before the courts, always willing to assist and support the junior members of our team, and always ready for a chat or to share a funny anecdote to liven up the office. His experience and knowledge was respected by everyone. When he suffered a stroke some years ago, his doctors said he would never talk again. There is no greater indicator of his character than the fact that not only did he indeed learn to talk again, but that he went back to work as a practicing solicitor in the criminal courts. He never stopped loving the job of being a criminal solicitor. His “retirement” lasted less time than some people’s holidays, and I’m not entirely convinced that it wasn’t just a ruse to get himself a nice bottle of scotch.
He will be sorely missed, by his family, his colleagues and the entire legal community in Leeds”
Phil

“Murray was one of the most gifted criminal solicitors I have been honoured to work alongside. He was always able to see to the essence of every case. I will dearly miss his wisdom”.
Graham

“Although I had probably known Murray less time than everyone else, he was a wonderful, friendly and wise friend who I will always remember. The comfort of having a friend like Murray at GT Stewart may have been taken away but not that of having had one like him. You will be missed but not forgotten my dear Murray”.
Asmah

“Murray was a great friend and I would not be where I am today without the guidance and support he provided me over the years. I will dearly miss him and his great supply of stories”.
