GT Stewart Solicitors represented a young client at Hull Crown Court in relation to an appeal against sentence from the Youth Court. Our client pleaded guilty to a number of offences relating to the saving and sharing of indecent images and was sentenced to a Youth Referral Order and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Our client was represented by a different firm of solicitors at that hearing and the case was referred on to us.
We appealed against this sentence on the basis that it was not necessary for the Court to impose a Sexual Harm Prevention Order because of the time that had passed between the offences and sentencing date, the change in maturity of our client since the date of the offences and that our client was assessed to be low risk.
The Court agreed with our arguments and granted our appeal, and revoked the Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Our client was represented by Ed Youlton, a solicitor in our Leeds Crime Team, and at Court by Marc Luxford of Crown Chambers.
