Katie is currently undertaking pupillage with GT Stewart Solicitors and Advocates. Katie is under the supervision of Ronnie Manek and Edward Fenner, in a busy criminal defence practice. Katie is in her second six and has successfully defended clients at trial in the Magistrates court. She is also in the Youth and Crown Court daily.
Prior to joining GT Stewart, Katie worked as an industrial disease paralegal at Clyde & CO LLP. Here, Katie had her own case load to manage. Exposing her to the foundations upon which to build a successful career at the bar.
Katie studied MLAW at Northumbria University whereby she obtained a first-class degree and either an outstanding or a very competent on each BPTC module. Katie channelled her interest in criminal defence into her dissertation, writing about the use of special measures and the potential prejudices caused to a defendant when not used effectively.
During her studies, Katie was recognised for numerous extra curriculum achievements due to a very successful track record in both mooting and advocacy.

In her spare time, Katie both plays and coaches netball. In the summer months, Katie enjoys surfing and open water swimming.
