Greg has been conducting criminal litigation and related appeals for 25 years. He was a founding partner of Brady Eastwood Pierce & Stewart in 1994 and then GT Stewart in 2003.
He spent 9 years as the youth justice practitioner on the Law Society Criminal Law Committee retiring in 2018 dealing with consultations such as the last revision to the sentencing code for children and young people. He regularly provides continuing education in the area of youth justice for various providers including the College of Law; LexisNexis and WestLaw. He was called to give evidence to the ‘Carlile Inquiry’ a Parliamentary Cross Party Inquiry into the Youth Justice System and his views were widely quoted in the final report. In 2017 and 2018 he hosted workshops at the Youth Summit organised by the YJLC. He is a co-author of Criminal Appeals Handbook (Bloomsbury 2015). He recently co-presented a Judicial Review Seminar for the Youth Justice Legal Centre (he is an advisory board member) at Garden Court chambers in November 2018.
He has been involved in many reported cases in the higher courts challenging aspects of youth court practice. He has been ranked in the current (and past) editions of the leading guides to the legal professions: Chambers UK; the Legal 500 and Super Lawyers. He is a member of the Law Society Association of Higher Court Advocates, the London Criminal Courts Solicitors’ Association and the Criminal Appeal Lawyers Association.
He has appeared on many radio and television discussions of legal topics including most recently the documentary Guilty by Association broadcast by BBC in September 2014 on the doctrine of joint enterprise, Unreliable Evidence (R4) September 2017 and The Accused a series on criminal justice cases on Channel 5.

In 2014 shortlisted for the Modern Law Awards Lawyer of the Year 2014 GT Stewart was shortlisted for the Modern Law Awards Law Firm of the Year.
