Dr. Laura Janes KC (Hon) is a Solicitor specialising in Prison Law, Criminal Appeals, Mental Health, Public Law and Community Care. She has particular expertise in representing vulnerable young people, women and those serving life sentences.
Dr. Laura is also Chair of the Association of Prison Lawyers, a Board member of the Legal Aid Practitioners’ Group, a member of the Law Society’s Criminal Justice Committee, a Fellow of the Prison Reform Trust, a Trustee of the National Association of Youth Justice. She is also a committee member for the Criminal Appeal Lawyers' Association and the Mental Health Lawyers’ Association. She is a visiting fellow at South Bank University.
In 2019, Dr. Laura was awarded Solicitor of the Year by the First 100 Years’ Inspirational Women in Law Awards.
