GT Stewart represented RS, a 15 year old, charged with two offences of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. RS was a vulnerable child and GT Stewart obtained a conclusive grounds decision confirming that he was a victim of modern slavery.
GT Stewart challenged his prosecution as he was a victim not a criminal and the prosecution asked the Court for further time to review the case. The Court agreed with GT Stewart that the adjournment should be refused and the prosecution withdrew the charges resulting in his acquittal.
