Ed Youlton achieves successful outcome for client charged with Aggravated Vehicle Taking at Leeds Crown Court
GT Stewart Solicitors represented HS who was jointly charged with 3 other defendants with an offence of Aggravated Vehicle Taking contrary to section 12A of the Theft Act 1968. The vehicle was stolen during a burglary and it is alleged that our client was in the vehicle when it crashed causing £10,000 worth of damage. Our client disputed the identification evidence in the case which was verified by a PCSO from mobile phone footage taken at the scene of the crash.
Ed Youlton advised the client that the identification evidence in the case was insufficient for a successful prosecution and the client subsequently entered a not guilty plea. The 3 co-defendants entered guilty pleas and the Crown offered no evidence in respect of our client. A not guilty verdict was entered in the court record.
HS was represented by Ed Youlton, in-house advocate, instructed by Patricia Walker, from our Leeds office.
