GT Stewart represented K, arrested days after his 18th birthday following the fatal stabbing of 19 year old Jeremiah Sewell in a South East London park in the summer of 2022. Ronnie Manek (Head of Advocacy) was led by Jenni Dempster KC of Red Lion Chambers and instructed by Mel Stooks (Head of Youth Team). The prosecution alleged that K acted in joint enterprise with the person who stabbed Sewell, despite many of the prosecution witnesses confirming that the conversation between Sewell and K was friendly shortly before his death. He was unanimously acquitted of both charges.
