GTS today successfully defended B at his trial at Leeds Magistrates’ Court. B was charged with a domestic assault and animal cruelty, allegations made by his former partner and mother of his child. The allegations were that B had hit his partner numerous times with a metal sauce pan before moving on to hit the family pet repeatedly and threatening to slit his throat in the presence of their young child.
B was initially remanded into custody but GTS successfully argued for his release pending the outcome of his trial. GTS were able to undermine the complainant’s account during the trial and B was acquitted. He can now have contact with his child.
B was represented by Elizabeth Rowley at our Leeds office.
