Katie joined McGrath & Co as a Criminal Clerk in April 2021 and went on to become a Trainee Solicitor in October 2022.
She graduated with a First Class in LLB Law & Criminology and she was studying the Legal Practice Course (LPC) on a part time weekend basis when she joined McGrath & Co. Katie also studied Masters of Law (LLM) on the topic of The Sentencing Act 2020 and its effect on the law of sentencing.
Katie is a Fully Accredited Police Station Representative and regularly provides advice and representation to clients on a range of offences.
She is friendly and approachable which assists Katie in representing vulnerable clients, such as those with autism and mental health conditions.
Katie has an attentive and committed approach with clients which allows her to provide thorough advice with her clients best interests in mind.
Post qualification, she is looking to complete her Duty Solicitor Qualification and gain Higher Rights of Audience to further expand her knowledge and advocacy skills to hearings at the Crown Court.
Katie has previous experience within the legal profession having worked for both the Crown Prosecution Service and another Criminal Law Firm prior to joining McGrath & Co.
In her spare time, Katie enjoys spending time with family and friends.
She can be often be found walking her cavapoo, Otto, or attempting DIY.

- LBB Law & Criminology (First class) – Birmingham City University
- Legal Practice Course (Merit) – University of Law, Birmingham
- Masters of Law in Legal Practice – University of Law, Birmingham
- Police Station Representative Accreditation Scheme – Cardiff University
Notable Cases:
- Katie regularly works closely with senior solicitors and counsel on gang injunction cases and inquests.
- Also part of her training contract, Katie is completing case work within the Prison Law department.
