Profile
Guillaume joined the Community Care team in 2020. Before joining GT Stewart, he studied Political Sciences in France, with a focus on the legal system and sociology. He also volunteered for a charity raising awareness of housing shortages and rising rental prices in Paris.
He later worked in Spain, supporting professionals seeking legal advice when establishing themselves in the Iberian Peninsula.
At GT Stewart, he now assists vulnerable clients, including those represented through the Official Solicitor, in a wide range of Court of Protection and Community Care matters.
He is an experienced caseworker whose practice covers a broad range of areas, including:
- Court of Protection proceedings concerning health and welfare, and mental capacity,
- General adult social care and children in need matters, including challenges to public bodies’ decisions through judicial review and formal complaints,
- Nearest Relative displacement proceedings and
- Human Rights claims.
In health and welfare cases, the person at the centre of proceedings will often lack litigation capacity and may find legal processes difficult to follow. Guillaume approaches these matters with compassion and common sense, taking the time to understand each client’s wishes and feelings so they can be properly considered when decisions are made in their best interests.
Guillaume speaks English, French and Spanish.
