Profile
Alex Pearson joined GT Stewart in 2025 and has worked in Family Law since 2016. She represents parents and other family members in both private and public law proceedings and is highly experienced in cases involving domestic abuse.
Alex is able to deal with complex and sensitive issues and has acted in cases concerning forced marriage, sexual abuse, inflicted injury, salt poisoning, risk of radicalisation and complex surrogacy matters.
She is passionate about ensuring that people who are neurodivergent, or who struggle to understand or participate in proceedings for any reason, can access information in a way that is clear to them. Alex works to make sure appropriate measures are put in place so that they can participate effectively in the process. She is thrilled by the decision in Re M (A Child: Intermediaries) [2025] EWCA Civ 440 and values the Family Justice Council Guidance on Neurodiversity in the Family Justice System for Practitioners (January 2025).
Alex has a particular interest in representing intervenors accused of causing injuries to a child who is the subject of care proceedings and remains a strong advocate for fair access to legal aid, expressing concern about the restrictive means thresholds that exclude many ordinary people from funding in these cases.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys spending time with her family, taking trips to Disney and going to the theatre.
“Alex provides a brilliant service to clients. She is kind, compassionate, and she meets people where they are. She works hard for every client to achieve the best outcome possible without losing sight of what is important to each individual client”.
