GT Stewart represented K who was charged with threats to kill, assault, having a bladed article and criminal damage. His case was sent to the Crown Court when he was represented by Michelle Stewart from our Leeds office.
From the outset, it was clear that there were a number of evidential issues in the case and we arranged for the case to be listed to dismiss the charges against our client. The Crown served the evidence, in particular CCTV footage, and our review of it highlighted the fact that the allegations against K were demonstrably untrue. K was represented by Philip Mahoney – Solicitor Advocate – who drafted the application to the Crown and the Court. The Crown subsequently wrote to confirm that they would not oppose our application. The case was listed before the court and all charges were dismissed.
