Adoption

Adoption applications generally fall into the two below categories

Adoption applications following previous Care Proceedings

As a parent you will be served with Notice of any adoption application that the Local Authority are making for your child or children. These applications follow previous Care Proceedings where a final Care Order and Placement Order was made.

You may wish to contest the adoption and seek the return of your child or children to your care. To do this you will need to show a chance in circumstances since the Care Proceedings finished.

It is therefore advisable to get in touch with us as soon as possible so that we can discuss the merits of your case and how the case can be funded.

Stand alone Adoption Applications & International Adoptions

If you wish to adopt a child you should seek the right legal advice from a firm experienced in such matters, as this can become an extremely complicated undertaking.

At GT Stewart Solicitors, we specialise in advice and representation in all domestic and foreign (any that occur outside of England and Wales) Adoption and Surrogacy matters.

Holding your Hand Throughout the Adoption Process

From guidance about the process to the transfer of parental rights and the resolution of any disputes that may occur along the way, we are here to help.

We have extensive experience in preparing and presenting complex cases for the court’s consideration through to the final order and for helping those who have adopted children overseas, as such adoptions may require ratification on return to the UK.
