We represented a professional of previous good character who had been charged with an offence of being drunk and disorderly in a public place. The impact of a conviction would have been devastating for our client’s career and so we agreed to represent our client pro-bono. After working with our client to obtain supporting material, we made lengthy written representations to the Crown in which we argued that it was not in the public interest to prosecute our client for this offence. After considering our representations, the Crown Prosecution Service discontinued the case against our client meaning that they remained a person of good character.
Our client was represented by Sabrina Neves, a solicitor in our Croydon Crime Team.
