GTS today succeeded in persuading the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to offer no evidence against our client.
GF faced two charges of harassment and stalking against the same complainant, a former colleague. The proceedings were adjourned in order that written representations could be submitted to the CPS, arguing that a Restraining Order ought to be issued as an alternative to prosecution.
Two psychiatric reports were prepared on GF’s behalf, which disclosed a traumatic childhood and complex diagnoses of mental health conditions. Both reports were used to support lengthy written representations to the CPS.
The CPS initially refused the representations and confirmed the prosecution would continue. However, GTS refused to concede defeat and made further representations which were eventually accepted meaning GF’s good character and reputation remain intact.
GF was represented by Kevin Williams at our City of London office, and by Katie Spence, a second six pupil from the Crown Court department.
