KF, a vulnerable 21 year old man charged with Joint Enterprise Murder with 5 others was acquitted unanimously after a 10 week trial at the Old Bailey after just 12 hours of jury deliberation.
KF was charged with others of committing an Arson attack on a property in Woolwich on 5 September 2018. The case against him was that he drove a motorbike to Centurian Square, Woolwich at 01.00hrs with his co-defendant as the pillion passenger who was carrying a petrol can in his back pack. The pillion passenger decamped the bike and poured petrol over the front door of the premises, set fire to the door and threw a brick through the window. KF denied that he had any knowledge of the planned attack and did not participate in it in any way. The main organiser of the pre-planned attack and the pillion passenger were convicted of Murder which had an underlying motive of an unpaid drugs debt. The innocent woman killed in the fire was a relative of the intended target. Two others were seriously injured.
