Bretherton Law is looking for a full-time Residential and Commercial Property Solicitor to join our Residential & Commercial Property team. This is an opportunity to join our friendly and progressive firm in a role offering scope for career progression and development.

Based in central St Albans, Bretherton Law has been serving the people of Hertfordshire for over fifty years.  The firm deals with a range of residential and commercial conveyancing matters including the sale and purchase of properties, remortgaging and the acquisition and disposal of land, plots and units.  We hold CQS and Lexcel accreditations.

At the end of March 2024 Bretherton Law became part of the GT Stewart Solicitors & Advocates who have 16 offices across the country. They are currently growing their private client and property departments based at their Kennington & Woolwich offices in London. GT Stewart are recognised in Chambers UK, the Legal 500 and Times Best Law Firms in many areas of work.

You will preferably:

  1. Be a Solicitor of 5+ years PQE + (or qualification and experience equivalent);
  2. Be able to conduct your own matters and supervise the work of paralegals/assistants as necessary;
  3. Be a confident communicator, able to build and maintain relationships with clients, agents and colleagues; and
  4. Have experience in dealing with CQS and Lexcel as well as Lender Panels and the Land Registry;
