GT Stewart Solicitors & Advocates is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mental Health Tribunal Panel Member to join our Mental Health Team. With LAA contracts in London and Birmingham, and a strong presence in England’s three high-secure hospitals, we offer a diverse and rewarding role in a supportive environment that values flexibility and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Caseload Management: Managing a personal caseload of mental health law files efficiently and effectively.
- Representation: Advocating for clients in Tribunal and Hospital Managers’ hearings.
- Meeting Attendance: Participating in Care Programme Approach (CPA) and Section 117 aftercare meetings.
- Compliance: Achieving fee-earning targets and ensuring ongoing compliance with CPD requirements.
- Business Development: Assisting in the department’s growth by generating new business and engaging in marketing activities.
Remote Working
Our Mental Health Team operates as a remote-working department. Candidates must be comfortable and experienced with working independently from home, demonstrating strong organisational skills and self-motivation. While remote working is the norm, candidates are welcome to use office facilities in Hammersmith and/or Central London if that suits their working style.
Requirements
The successful candidate must:
- Be a current member of the Law Society’s Mental Health Tribunal Panel (essential).
- Have significant experience representing clients in mental health law cases.
- Be highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of managing a varied caseload remotely.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to client care and professional standards.
- Be proactive in contributing to the team’s success through business development and marketing initiatives.
