We are recruiting a solicitor for our highly respected team specialising in civil liberties and human rights at McGraths solicitors.
We are looking for a Senior civil liberties solicitor to join our offices in Central Birmingham. We conduct an interesting and challenging mix of high profile work primarily focussing on actions against the police, prison service and other public bodies. We also specialise in inquest work, investigating deaths in state custody.
We are looking for someone who has experience with civil litigation, judicial review challenges in the High Court and Inquest work.
This role would be ideal for someone who is 3+ years PQE, as they shall be supervising a dedicated paralegal. The role will involve acting as legal aid supervisor – the ideal candidate shall have experience of this, however, legal aid supervisor training shall be provided.
The role is £38,000 to £44,000 depending on experience.
The successful candidate will ideally have worked on both publicly funded and CFA cases. They will have an imaginative and determined approach with excellent analytical abilities both orally and in written submissions backed by detailed grasp tortious claims and judicial review. An ability to work under pressure and meet financial targets are essential. The vacancy benefits from administrative support.
