We are seeking a permanent, full-time Family Paralegal/Legal Secretary for our busy Leeds office to join our expanding team.
Your Profile: You will preferably:
- Have some experience working as a legal secretary or paralegal, ideally within family and childcare law.
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in Family law.
- Possess strong organisational skills.
- Have the ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines.
- Display fast and accurate typing skills.
- Exhibit clear and precise written and verbal communication skills.
Key Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will:
- Provide the highest level of client care in the management of client matters.
- Offer administrative and legal support to Fee Earners and Senior Team Members.
- Type from digital dictation or copy typing to produce accurate documentation.
- Manage files effectively, including electronic filing and compliance with office procedures.
- Attend clients to take notes, as well as liaise with internal and external parties such as local authorities, Police, medical professionals, Courts, and experts.
- Assist with preparing Court bundles, including collating and redacting large documents.
- Complete public funding applications and manage CCMS legal aid matters.
- Keep appointment diaries for Fee Earners and arrange meetings as required.
- Handle telephone calls and correspondence with clients, Counsel, and other third parties professionally.
- Process fee notes, expert invoices, and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Ensure adherence to the firm’s practice manual and compliance protocols.
