We are expanding our team and seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Crime Billing Administrator to contribute to our dynamic and growing criminal billing department.

Position Overview:

As a Crime Billing Assistant/Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless billing of all criminal defence cases across our network of offices nationwide. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, offering a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with our talented billing and accounts teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Addressing both internal and external billing queries with precision
  • Managing post and emails efficiently through sorting and filtering
  • Scanning, filing, and meticulously chasing missing documentation
  • Conducting thorough pre-billing file checks
  • Collaborating with offsite cost draftspersons for claims allocation and tracking
  • Providing essential cover and support for team members when required
  • Data entry duties including posting payment receipts, reconciling ledgers and closing files.
  • Requesting interim payments from the Legal Ad Agency.
  • Checking expert invoices for correct Legal Aid Rates.

About you:

  • Good knowledge of Tikit (P4W)system or Legal Aid processes essential
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Professional telephone manner
  • Quick learner with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite essential

This position pays National Living Wage with a Living Wage bonus for the financial year 2023/2024 for a 37.5 hour week.
