We’re delighted to announce that GT Stewart Solicitors is introducing the Solicitor Apprenticeship Programme as part of our wider development and training strategy. Supporting our staff to progress is a key part of our people plan, and this apprenticeship offers a valuable route for team members to develop new skills while continuing to deliver the high standard of client service we are committed to.
This is the only solicitor apprenticeship programme designed specifically around the SQE, and it provides a clear, structured pathway towards qualification. The programme offers two routes, tailored for existing paralegals and law or non-law graduates:
Route 1 – Shorter form (18 months)
Law degree, GDL, CILEX Level 6, or licensed conveyancer qualification or similar.
Route 2 – Longer form (35 months)
Non-law degree, paralegal apprenticeship, CILEX Level 3, or conveyancing technician/ license paralegal qualification or similar.
Apprentices benefit from:
- Face-to-face online coaching visits with a dedicated Damar coach
- Diverse and engaging online Group coaching sessions
- Detailed weekly study and content on the BARBRI system
- Review visits with the apprentice, line manager and Damar coach.
All apprentices work towards SQE1 during the programme and SQE2 as the end-point assessment. Practical activity briefs allow them to apply learning in the workplace and build qualifying work experience (QWE).
The longer route also includes a Foundations of English Law course, extended SQE preparation, and “Preparation for Practice” modules to develop wider practice skills.
With experienced legal coaches and practical workplace support, apprentices receive the guidance they need to succeed.
As the scheme will no longer be available after December, this will be the final opportunity for eligible staff to qualify as a Solicitor through an apprenticeship at this level. We’re proud to support our team to qualify through this route and look forward to seeing the positive impact it brings to their development and to the services we provide.
