Profile

Shadia Thomas joined GT Stewart as a Paralegal in our Family & Childcare Department. Before joining, she worked with victims of domestic abuse, providing support and securing legal protection against their abusers. In this role, she prepared and submitted applications for protective orders to the courts, acting for both pro bono and Legal Aid clients.

Shadia has successfully secured more than 50 protective orders for victims of domestic abuse, helping to safeguard and improve the well-being of vulnerable individuals.

She graduated with an LLB Law degree from Nottingham Law School in 2025. Her final-year dissertation analysed domestic abuse and family law, drawing on her practical experience. This research achieved an exceptional first and was recognised with the Browne Jacobson Prize for the highest-performing dissertation.

Outside her legal career, Shadia is a passionate equestrian and competitive horseball player – a fast-paced sport combining elements of rugby and netball on horseback.
