Oskar is a criminal defence paralegal assisting in a wide range of criminal matters from common assault and criminal damage to rape, Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH), murder and much more. Since starting with GT Stewart Solicitors in September 2024 has participated in client conferences and interviews at the Police Station as well as the the reading and analysis of evidence, exhibits and witness statements. Additionally, Oskar’s responsibilities also include working with foreign clients arrested for illegal entry, clients concerned with the supply of drugs and vulnerable clients accused of serious criminal offences.

Prior to his role at GT Stewart, Oskar worked for Vyman Solicitors in their Magistrates and Crown Court departments. He gained valuable experience through work placements in various courts, such as Canterbury Crown Court, Medway Magistrates Court and Margate Magistrates Court in which he gained a key understanding of court proceedings and criminal practice.

Alongside working for GT Stewart as a Paralegal, Oskar is currently studying for his Integrated Master’s Degree (MLaw) in Advanced Legal Practice at the University of Kent which aims to prepare law students for the Solicitors Qualification Exam (SQE) simultaneous with their Master’s degree. As part of this course, the University has partnered with GT Stewart and other Kent Law Firms to provide flexible legal work that accommodates students’ teaching schedules, enabling students like Oskar to get the necessary qualifying work experience (QWE) for the SQE and enter the legal profession.

Oskar’s ultimate ambition is to become a fully qualified Solicitor, specialising in Criminal Law. He particularly aspires to eventually obtain Higher Rights of Audience and qualify as a Solicitor Advocate.
