Profile

Magdalena is a Paralegal in the Family & Childcare Department at our Barnet office.

She completed her LLB at the University of the West of England. She went on to achieve a Pro Bono Master’s in Law and completed the Bar Practice Training Course at the University of Law.

During her master’s, Magdalena worked as a student legal advisor at the University of Law Legal Clinic in the Family Law department for one year. She handled multiple cases involving Section 8 Children Act 1989 applications, representing clients in court and conducting advocacy. She also participated in negotiations and drafted key legal documents, including position statements. Magdalena has worked closely with clients who were victims of domestic abuse, supporting them in obtaining non-molestation orders. This experience deepened Magdalena’s understanding of working with vulnerable clients and reinforced the importance of access to justice, and the need for clear, compassionate legal advice. It taught her how to balance practical and emotional support while remaining focused on legal objectives, and it further solidified her passion for pursuing a career in Family Law.

Outside of law, Magdalena enjoys reading and aims to complete at least one book each month. She is particularly interested in books on history and medicine, and exploring how these subjects intersect with society and human behaviour. Her interest in research extends beyond the legal field and reflects a deep curiosity and passion for lifelong learning. In her spare time, she also enjoys baking, which she finds to be both a relaxing and creative outlet.

During her time as a Student Advisor at the University of Law Legal Clinic, Magdalena represented a mother who was the respondent in a Section 8 Children Act 1989 application. The application was brought by the father, who had subjected the client to coercive and controlling behaviour. Magdalena conducted legal research, prepared the client’s position statement, and successfully negotiated appropriate contact arrangements with the applicant’s solicitor. She also had the opportunity to conduct advocacy in court on behalf of her client and supported her in securing a Non-Molestation Order.
