Liljana is a Solicitor in the Family & Childcare Department at our Barnet office.

She graduated with a Law degree from the University of Westminster in 2012 and went on to complete her Legal Practice Course there in 2014. Since 2015, Liljana has worked exclusively in family and child care law, first as a paralegal and trainee solicitor, before qualifying as a solicitor in February 2019.

  • Public Law Outline [PLO] and social services involvement [Child Protection / Child in Need]

  • Private Law Children Applications [Child Arrangements Order, to live with and to spend time with, Prohibited Steps Order, Specific Issue Orders [regarding surname change, relocation and other issues].

  • Financial Remedy proceedings
  • Transfer of Tenancy Applications

Liljana undertakes her own advocacy wherever possible, offering clients consistent support and continuity throughout their case.  She has experience in undertaking advocacy at all stages of a matter such as interim Hearings, Final Hearings and Fact Finding Hearings.

Liljana has experience of working alongside experienced barristers [Junior and KC] in complex matters such as:-

  • Non-accidental injuries [NAI] such as head injuries, fractures and bruising
  • Shaken baby allegations
  • Sexual abuse
  • Cases where there are concurrent criminal proceedings

Liljana is very passionate about Family Law and dedicated to advocating for and supporting vulnerable individuals and families during some of the most challenging times of their lives.

She has experience in representing vulnerable adults and those with learning difficulties and learning disabilities, vulnerable adults where the Official Solicitor has become involved.  Liljana is known for her empathetic approach, while also maintaining a firm and clear stance when needed to protect her clients’ interests and ensure they are fully heard. She is committed to achieving the best possible outcomes with professionalism, care, and determination.

Liljana is actively involved in supporting the community to access legal advice. She has previously volunteered with organisations such as Solace Women’s Aid, Citizens Advice, and several Albanian community charities, where she has helped set up and deliver free legal advice clinics — a commitment she is keen to continue.

Liljana was shortlisted for the Junior Lawyers Division at the LawWorks Pro Bono Awards in 2021. She is on the rota for the Hertfordshire LFJB private children law duty scheme.

Liljana is fluent in Albanian. Outside of work, she is a proud mum of two and loves spending time with her family. In her spare time, she also enjoys watching legal TV dramas and documentaries.
