Profile
Edward joined GT Stewart in February 2026 as part of the Criminal Defence team in St Albans. He brings over two decades of legal experience, with extensive expertise in criminal defence and police station representation. Edward was among the first cohort of accredited police station representatives in 1997, having worked as a caseworker and a police station representative at reputable criminal law firms in London.
He advises on a broad range of criminal matters, including sexual offences, violent crime, serious fraud, theft and related offences among others. Edward regularly attends custody suites across London and the South East, providing timely and strategic advice at the critical pre-charge stage to protect clients’ rights and interests.
Alongside his police station work, Edward has substantial experience as a criminal caseworker, preparing matters for summary trials, committals and Crown Court proceedings. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2012 after completing the Bar Vocational Course (BVC).
In 2014, Edward relocated to Ghana, where he was called to the Ghana Bar in 2016. He practised as both a solicitor and barrister and served as a senior associate at a leading international law firm. During this time, his practice developed to include complex regulatory and compliance matters with a particular focus on business crime and financial regulation.
