Babalola Adegunsoye is an experienced solicitor who represents children, parents and other family members in public law children matters.  He is passionate  about this area of law and provides a high level of service to all his clients ensuring that detailed  advice is provided on how to progress their case ensuring the children remain the key focus.

Babs as he is fondly called, graduated from London Metropolitan University and completed his Post Graduate Studies at the Westminster Law School, University of Westminster in 2016 before training with a firm in Southeast London.  He qualified in 2017 and is an accredited member of the Law Society’s Children Panel. He then went on to work in a multi-disciplinary high street law firm since 2008, initially as a caseworker before completing his Training Contract and qualifying as a Solicitor.

Babs has a wealth of experience acting for parents and children in care proceedings, adoption proceedings, special guardianship applications, emergency protection applications, recovery and collection applications, international abduction as well as advocating for families’ pre-proceedings. Babs is experienced in assessing children’s capacity within proceedings and separately representing competent children, and experience of local authority children engagement having for a local authority in the Kent area.

Babs is well known for his calm and sympathetic approach, with the ability to deal with clients in a thoughtful and sensitive manner at a very difficult time. He has particular expertise in representing children who are both distressed and challenging as a result of their involvement in court proceedings.

Prior to coming to the UK and before his legal career, Babs has a first-class degree in Accounting, as well as an MSc and an MBA in Finance. Babs also has qualification as a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Banker, having worked in the Banking industry for over 20 years in his home country, Nigeria, where he held various positions.

Out of work he enjoys playing musical instruments as he is versed in playing keyboards, guitar (bass guitar is his favourite) drums, writing songs as well as supporting his favourite team, Manchester United but most of all, he enjoys spending time with his family.
