GT Stewart today secured not guilty verdicts for two clients at Wood Green Crown Court, both accused of assaulting police following an incident in Shoreditch.
TF and ST were accused of breaking the finger of a police constable and kicking another in the head respectively. Both TF and ST strongly denied the allegations; GT Stewart were able to obtain footage of the incident, which supported their defence and in fact appeared to suggest the officers had provided misleading statements.
Following a trial lasting nine days and despite the evidence of 15 police officers our clients were found not guilty all charges.
GT Stewart are considering taking civil action against the police regarding brutality and malicious prosecution.
ST and TF were represented by Kevin Williams at our City of London office, and by Jamil Mohammed and Daniel Walker of 33 Bedford Row Chambers at trial.
