GT Stewart represented T at Woolwich Crown Court, who was charged with one count of causing death by careless driving. T, an experienced HGV driver with a clean driving record, was arrested in August 2016 following a collision with a pedestrian in Regent Street, London.

T was charged on the basis that he, according to the police, failed to look in his Class VI mirror prior to pulling away from a stationary position.

GT Stewart instructed a collision expert, Mr Gary Mason of RGM Collisions Ltd, who conducted a reconstruction of the incident and produced a report corroborating T’s defence that this was simply a tragic accident.

Following a trial lasting four days, the jury unanimously acquitted T of causing death by careless driving and his good character remains intact.

T was represented by Kevin Williams at our City of London Office, and by Ronnie Manek throughout the trial.
