Our client, a man of previous good character and a military veteran, was issued with a Conditional Discharge for six months for possession of a number of weapons in a private place. He had pleaded guilty to the charge, having collected the weapons as an interest after leaving the military before the coming into force of the Offensive Weapons Act 2021.
The CPS were successfully persuaded to offer no evidence in relation to our client’s importation of weapons into the UK offence and this charge was dismissed, a fantastic result for our Senior Solicitor Sophie Smith.
