AH was found not guilty following a trial where she was represented by Patricia Walker, a Partner at our Leeds office.
AH was a part time student who supplemented her income by working as a Care Assistant in a Care Home specialising in looking after residents with specific challenging needs including dementia. In July 2022 AH was caring for one of the residents who was in the dining room trying to remove her clothes. AH attempted to redress the resident, when it was alleged by two witnesses that AH had intentionally slapped the resident.
We were able to discuss the trial process in detail with AH to ensure that she had the confidence to give evidence in her own case. After considering all the evidence the Magistrates found that her evidence was credible and consistent and found her not guilty.
