CB was acquitted of two counts of conspiracy to supply class A drugs at Isleworth Crown Court following a 14 day trial, represented by in-house counsel, Jodie Mole and litigated by Peter McGovern.
CB stood trial with three co-defendants, all of whom were convicted after trial. The evidence against CB was primarily based on telephone calls from an established “drugs line” at the heart of the conspiracies being diverted to his telephone during the conspiracy period. He was also observed meeting a male who had pleaded guilty to the conspiracies, whilst the calls were being diverted to his telephone and there was bad character evidence before jury. CB gave evidence in his defence, as did two of the co-defendants. CB was unanimously acquitted after the jury had been in deliberation for less than two days.
