GT Stewart today persuaded the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to discontinue all charges against our client.
DM – a man of good character and an experienced pilot for a well known international airline – faced charges of criminal damage and using violence to secure entry and was due to stand trial later this month. Had he been convicted of either offence, he would have been terminated from his employment immediately and would have been unable to ever gain work as a pilot.
Written representations were submitted on DM’s behalf on the basis it was not in the public interest to prosecute him when comparing the seriousness of the offences to the potential consequences of a conviction.
The CPS accepted the representations and both charges were discontinued, meaning DM’s good character and employment remain intact.
DM was represented by Kevin Williams at our City of London office.
