Profile

Alex joined GT Stewart in February 2026 as a Paralegal in our Crime and Extradition team. She has a strong academic interest in criminal law and practical experience through volunteering on criminal law matters.

For her final year independent study, Alex examined the challenges and criticisms surrounding the Sexual Offences Act, with a specific focus on rape laws and the different models for reform.

Alongside her role at GT Stewart, Alex volunteers as a legal assistant with Evolve: Foundation for International Legal Assistance, where she supports work on appeals against death sentences and criminal convictions in Uganda. She has also volunteered with Women’s Aid, assisting survivors of domestic abuse in obtaining protective remedies, including non-molestation and occupation orders.

Alex was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2025 after completing the Bar Practice Course, achieving a Distinction.

Notable Experience or Interests Outside of Law

Alex has a strong interest in youth work. She spent three years as a tutor, supporting children with mathematics and English, including 11+ preparation and GCSE mathematics. She also volunteered with Phoenix Aspirational Learning Support, an alternative provision secondary school for children unable to attend mainstream education due to antisocial behaviour.

In addition, Alex is interested in prison rehabilitation and reform. She volunteered with the Howard League Project for three years, delivering workshops in various East Midlands prisons to educate prisoners about job and education opportunities during and after their sentences.
