We recently welcomed Ghazala Parveen as our new Prison Law Supervisor in Birmingham. Ghazala brings over 30 years of legal experience, specialising in Prison Law since 2010. She began her career in the Welfare Department, supporting clients in Housing, Welfare, and Debt Law. Since moving into Prison Law, Ghazala has spent more than 10 years handling complex cases involving parole reviews, adjudications, recalls, categorisation, and IPP sentence terminations. She has worked on some of the most complex and high-stakes cases in the criminal justice system.
Beyond her legal practice, Ghazala has dedicated over 20 years to social justice initiatives, including serving on the board of a charity supporting disabled children and their families. She also brings extensive experience assisting individuals facing homelessness and debt, giving her insight into the social challenges connected to the criminal justice system.
Ghazala’s dedication to meaningful change reflects the approach we take at GT Stewart - putting clients first and always looking for ways to make a real difference. Her passion for fairness and systemic change makes her a valuable addition and we’re delighted to have her expertise strengthening our Prison Law team.
