Megan Rana-Smith joined the Family department at GT Stewart in 2025.
She specialises in Family Law, with a particular focus on cases involving domestic abuse and child matters. She has previously worked as a Legal Advisor supporting victims of domestic abuse and as an Administrative Officer at the Ministry of Justice (HMCTS).
Megan has given both oral and written submissions to the Independent Commission on Counter-Terrorism Law, Policy and Practice and has worked as a Trade Union Representative for the Cleaners and Independent Allied Workers Union.
Megan currently volunteers with the School Exclusion Project and Both Parents Matter. Her previous voluntary work includes roles with the NHS, the Somali Association of South Africa, and a Human Rights Internship with Africa Unite.
Outside of law, Megan is a regular tennis and padel player, and enjoys going to the gym, surfing, and travelling.
