We are a Legal 500 and Chambers UK recommended firm who are currently recruiting for a Paralegal to join our prison law team  based at our Dartford office.

We need a someone who will help with general admin, file opening and paralegal work to assist the team in recall cases, parole hearings and prison adjudications

Main Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Professional pro-active approach, strong client care skills and a sensitive and sympathetic understanding of clients’ needs
  • Opening file and general admin
  • Assisting with casework including dealing with a range of prison law matters
  • Attending clients, taking instructions and preparing cases
  • Dealing with correspondence
  • Implementing any recommendations made by your supervisor following monthly file reviews ensuring that these are dealt with promptly
  • Ensuring compliance with file management.

Key Skills Required:

  • Demonstrate passion and experience in a broad range of Prison Law. Some experience/ Knowledge in Criminal/ prison law would be beneficial
  • A strong academic background preferably a Law degree but not essential
  • Legal experience as an Prison Law Paralegal/Advisor preferable but not essential
  • Excellent communications skills to work effectively with all types of people
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills and ability to use own initiative but know when to seek guidance
  • Committed team player, self -motivated and professional
  • Excellent IT Skills -familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management skills
